The Annual West Cape May Strawberry Festival is always the first Saturday in June. This year the date is Saturday June 3, 2012. Held in Wilbraham Park, this much anticipated early summer event features many vendors, live entertainment and of course lots of Jersey fresh strawberries. Crowning of the annual King and Queen at 3pm. Raindate is June 4.
West Cape May is located only one block away from the Washington Street Mall of Cape May and just a short bike ride or walk to superb birding and nature trails; and only a few blocks to the beach. Also just a reminder that West Cape May has no parking meters and street parking is always free! Some of the best restaurants on Cape Island are right here.
After a day at the beach, explore our many shops. Antique and nature lovers will be in heaven. We have more antique and flower shops in our shopping district than anywhere else on Cape Island. Browse our one of a kind gift and clothing shops!
Discover the other Cape May, with some of the oldest homes in the state of New Jersey, unique Colonial and Victorian Architecture, shops, vintage cottages, and traces of African-American heritage.
The core of West Cape May is a National Historic District. The historic area includes most of Broadway and goes from Park Boulevard to Pacific Ave. and from Sunset Boulevard to Leaming Ave. Some of the best times to see West Cape May's architecture are Fall, Winter and Spring before our many trees leaf out.
West Cape May was established as a town in 1884, however many of our homes date back many years before then. Take a stroll through the past and see our 19th Century Victorian homes and bungalows at every turn.
